Free Weight Loss Program

My concern for people’s physical fitness is why I want to offer some free fitness advice through my newsletter and parts of this website, but I am also very concerned about people’s spiritual fitness as well. Humans are made up of three parts: body, mind, and soul. If we are not healthy in all three parts, we will never be truly happy or satisfied.

Are you searching for something, but don’t know exactly what it is? Fill in the blank to the following statement.

If I could just ___________, then I would be happy.

Whether your answer is to lose 20 pounds, bench press 315, or have a million dollars in the bank, once you achieve that goal you will still want more. The only way to truly be satisfied is to have a relationship with the one who created you.

Unfortunately, we are separated from God because of sin. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” Basically we have all done something in our life that was wrong, so we have all sinned. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Death is not just a physical death, but eternal separation from God.

God knew that we could not have a relationship with him if we had sin in out lives so he provided the gift of eternal life by giving his Son Jesus. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God provided this free gift of salvation for anyone, but not everyone will receive it. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven.” The problem is that people try to do it on their own without God’s help. Being a good person is not the way to receive God’s forgiveness. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Trusting in Jesus is the only way to receive God’s forgiveness and have a relation ship with Him. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Having a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ is really as simple as A-B-C.

A – You must admit that you are a sinner.

B – You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for your sins, and that he was resurrected on the third day.

C – You must confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord of your life.

Would you like to receive God’s forgiveness, heaven, and eternal life by putting your faith in Jesus? If so, you can pray a simple prayer. The words of this prayer are not magic and they will not save you, but your attitude and spirit with the meaning of this prayer will show God that you are putting your trust in Him and Jesus to provide the way for you to become one of His children.

Pray: “God in heaven, I am a sinner and I know that sin is what separates me from you. I believe that you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins, and I believe that you raised him from the dead three days later. I now ask you to forgive me of my sins. I place my trust in you, knowing that there is nothing I can do to deserve this free gift. Please come into my heart and be the lord of my life. Thank you for this wonderful gift and help me to grow and share this decision with others. I ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

If you have made a decision for Christ Please share that decision with others. Please send me an email at dhocott@rgv.rr.com so I can share in your joy and help you to grow as a Christian. If you do not have a Bible, please get one and begin reading the gospel of John, and let me be the first to welcome you to the family of God.
